Fatigued!

So, I probably would have said exhausted, but AJ is having words of the day and he came home saying fatigued in every other sentence!!!!

Yes, I AM fatigued!!!!!!!

I'm running back and forth to the hospital, thank heavens Kev has been home for 4 days, what a shock.

We worked on rebuilding the shed.... we still have a roof to do. Also, Kevin and I have been painting the fascia and eves of the house where the gutters go, so that the roofing company can put up new gutters! There is blue paint everywhere and I do mean everywhere!! I need another project, right??? Don't know if I'll ever get AJ's dresser and desk stripped, sanded, and spray painted!

The vertical blinds came in for the game/sun room and the living room. The Company messed up and shipped one set incorrectly. That project can't be completed.

Oh, and Mom's sweet dachshund, Elke, can't come to our house because the kitties and she don't get along. So we are running to her house to walk, water, and feed the dog!

Mom was suppose to move to rehab today, if they had a room available. I sure hope the pain subsides and she can start walking.

Thursday we are suppose to finish the roof of the shed and the doors. I really hope we can. The rest of the house outside painting will have to wait to life is less busy. I don't have time to post any pictures. It does look nice if I do say so myself! Pics later!

Kev returns to work tomorrow night, maybe he can teach me to edge the grass before he leaves, I did get it mowed! Man, chores never disappear.

Trying to keep the faith~

Worried

I'm stressed..... Mom is NOT working with the Physical Therapists. I understand that there is a lot of pain, but if she doesn't put in some effort, she won't ever walk again. I've never seen her act like this with pain.

I need all to pray for her. She is suppose to be moved to rehab on Wed. This could be interesting if she doesn't make any progress.

Here We Go Again!

Oh NO!!!

Scene 1: Saturday, house full of people, actually, yard full of people re-building shed, Tyler and Ashley had left to take Grammie back home. 1st, quick stop at grocery store for some cookies for Church.

Phone rings, Tyler - Heads up, Grammie just fell. Will call you back.

A few seconds later we hear a lot of sirens.....

A minute later phone rings, ambulance is taking Grammie to hospital for X-rays, she thinks her leg is broken!!!

3 hours later, the ER doctor calls tells my husband, a doctor, femoral bone (thigh) is broken, being admitted. Tyler & Ashley had already gone back up to the hospital.

Act 2, Flashback, L hip was broken at Easter, 6 mos prior, just recovering and starting to get around from that.

Act 3, During the day we had had 2 sprained ankles working on the shed.

Act 4 Grammie calls friend to come pick up cookies and take to church. She comes into house, steps off the step down into sun room and falls!!!!

HUGE Goose egg on forehead, bleeding cuts on both arms from blood thinners. Doc has to come in from building shed and put on steri strips and bandages!

Finale Cookies are cursed! Time to shut down and have a glass of wine!

Love Thy What?

OK, I know I'm suppose to Love Thy Thy Neighbor, and Do Unto Others...., but as you know if you have been reading my blog, I have an obstinate neighbor! We have lived in this house for 15 yrs, this woman has lived next door to us for 14 months.

Please refer to Shed post.

So, I want to show all my blog friends how Kevin and I spent 9-11-09, remembering the bombing of the Twin Towers in NYC. I thought it was ironic when we were Memorializing (word?) the mass DESTRUCTION of 2 ICONS of our culture, Kevin and I were destructing our shed! The husband comes up and says, "wow, it sure is coming down fast"! Kevin, brilliantly says, "Destruction is faster than Creation".

My yard, after the fence has been torn down, the yard tilled, and everything exposed to the public!

Staking out the ground, the shed, at the current size, 10x12' is NOT going to fit in this yard!

We need more muscle to move this wall in 1 piece! It is the only wall we can keep intact and not have to rebuild.

The old concrete from the fence post footing. Great brotherly teamwork!

Digging out the trenches for the runners of the floor railing.

Sorry, but REVENGE is SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not 1 hr after we went from this.....

We started this....

The end result? Lots of HAPPY kids, hooting and hollering, loud music, and jumping higher than the fence line!!! The witch might regret the day she complained about about a roof line that after all we were willing to lower!

This baby isn't going anywhere!!

Happy day!

Stay at Home Mom, Really???

OK, I've probably discussed this before, and it is mostly my own fault, however I'm a SAHM who is HARDLY ever home!!! the name escapes me, but there is a Jim Carey movie where he says 'YES' to everything. I need a course to learn to say NO!!!!!

I have board positions on 2 PTA's and 1 on Council. Add school meetings for kids, extracurricular activities, AJ is still begging for Tennis, taking my Mom to the stores and her errands, and yikes! I need a calendar for my calendar!

Kevin was looking in the closet yesterday for a shirt to wear that wasn't a scrub. Most of them needed to be ironed, he said, maybe I should take them with me to some of these slow ER's, I would have more time to iron than you!!!! BLESS HIM!

Can you picture it? The doctor in his little call room with an iron, ironing shirts on the bed and the beeper going off. OR, the headline in the paper, hospital fire started by unattended iron!!!!

Well, I've vented, I'm just tired from 2 weeks of meetings, roofers, and painters.

Kev said it best, I need a T shirt that says, Help, Stop me before I Volunteer Again!

09-09-09 We're Still Here!

Just a quick note, we are still alive! I heard on the radio this morning that dooms day sayers were predicting that this too would be the end of the world, gee when and where have I heard that in the last 9 or so years????

Sorry friends, you have to pay your bills.

Huckleberry Cafe

Go ahead, tell me I'm crazy right now, I'm waiting! I still have Mt. Rushmore to show you and other 'cool' places that we went and I'm blogging about a cafe? YES, I am!!! This small cafe was one of the best places to eat in Big Sky. If you are ever up there, go to Huckleberry's. Best biscuit & gravy in the world!! This little place is 6 miles down the mountain from all the ski resorts, therefore the prices are more reasonable! But I just fell in love with the atmosphere and kept taking pictures. See for yourself.

Speaks for itself!

OK, the 'bar' was decorated in old skis. I found myself fascinated by this and my mind clicked and took this picture. I'm rather proud of it!

When the cafe is busy and you have to wait for a table, you'll be surprisingly comfortable sitting on the ski bench!!

While waiting for your food, you won't be board, there is plenty to look at, you just have to look in every direction!

Since I've been painting the house and my niece has been glazing everything in sight at her home, this floor really caught my eye!
The ski resort has to make summer income, so ski trails are used for mountain bikes! However, I did find the kind of bike I had as a kid - High handle bars, banana seat, and slick back tire! Amelia and AJ were not impressed by Kevin and I reminiscing!
Someday they will understand!

GREAT food, fun atmosphere, and friendly staff. What more could you want in a place to eat in while on vacation? Try out this little cafe, you'll be glad you did!

Faithfully Yours!

Back to vacation photos! Gosh, has it been over a month since we were at Yellowstone National Park? My how time flies. Here are a couple of pics of Old Faithful.
It was awesome, I've always wanted to see it.

But we also enjoyed other geysers in the park. They were a lot of fun, and really breath taking!

This geyser was truly wonderful! Great Fountain spewed for over 30 minutes! AJ was soaked! This was such a fun geyser off the beaten path. I'm sure glad Kev found it on the map and we happened to time it when it was going off!

Well, I could go on forever and bore you with mountains of photos! But lets just say that Yellowstone was definitely worth the time. In fact, we wish we had had more time to explore more of it! We only drove through a fraction of the park. I want to go back!

Making Progress!

The process has been long and slow. However, patience is a virtue! Amelia's room is coming along. It has taken a lot of hard work. Waiting for Hobby Lobby to put stuff 50% off and then being home to do the work! Also, having Kevin home to hang certain things!! Bless him, he is the mathematician and scientist to tell me what kind of wall hangars are needed for where! Just thought I'd give you an update on the bedroom/bath.

Oh, and before you ask, the company that makes the letter hooks, I was told didn't make5 letters, 'I' being one of them! Strange to me!!!

I have the curtain for bath, just have to hang it. I think the dresser and desk came out wonderful. Spray paint is awesome!! I sanded, Kev sprayed, we make such a good team!

Now to get pictures printed for those frames and get them on the wall and her room will be complete!

Then onto AJ's room.

Oh, wait, we have to tear down the shed, rebuild it, AND prep the outside of the house and PAINT it for the new gutters!!! Now that the roof is on. Oh, and the back fence, it had to come down so the yard could be tilled so the shed could be moved!

Will my home ever be quiet and normal??!!!!!!!!!!!!! Send help, Quick, I'm losing my mind!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Topsy Turvy World.....

Well, you know life goes on right? I mean, hello! And as my Niece, Stephanie, points out, you all really do need a break from vacation pictures!!! Yes, I'm trying to mix it up and poor Old Faithful, and Mt. Rushmore are going to have to wait.

Why? You ask on pins and needles on the edge of your seat as the suspense builds, aren't you into mysteries????

Because, I'm in total turmoil, chaos, confusion, and any other term you can come up with. Last Friday, 7 AM, Ye Gods! (reference Music Man!), the roofers show up, all day long Pounding, Stomping, and Thumping! But wait, there's more! They had to come back on Saturday!

Then, Monday, the contractor calls, now that the roof is on, we can fix your 3 ceilings and paint your 2 rooms that were damaged in that storm!! Start moving out the small furniture, toys, and get things off the wall!!

So, once again, I've been absent. Below is what my house looks like. Sigh, I just have to tell myself that in the long run it will all be worth it!!!

The pictures aren't in, sorry, no time for that! The sun/game room, AJ's room are the ones with new ceilings and paint. The Guest room only had a small patch in the ceiling!

AJ's toys are in the living room, the pool table is in the dining room along with
a lot of the Wii rock band/drums, and so forth. A book case from the game room that holds medical books and doctor figurines, well the figurines are all over my kitchen table! Dust is everywhere, the cats wanted to pull down the plastic that was hung when they 'shot' the ceilings, and the insurance isn't paying for AJ's bathroom to be painted! I'll have to do his sink/closet area. The kids have a Pullman bath. So my projects just keep coming!

I'll have to do an update on Amelia's room, it is looking very sharp now, and the shower area is shaping up nicely!

So, what's happening in your corner of the world? I've been so far behind in reading your blogs, I may never catch up :( I do think about all my bloggy friends and miss you all much.

Hugs,
Cozyflier
