A mist all the excitement of getting ready for 2 different trips that parts of the family are going on, now we are dealing with surgery. See, back in January Amelia hurt her knee during PE. We figured it was just a strained knee and some home P.T. and a little time it would get better. She has been wearing my old knee brace to protect it, was VERY careful when she went skiing, and doing everything she could to get it to heal. No go, it just keeps hurting. Time for the MRI.
Low and behold, she has a Complex tear of the Posterior Horn of the Medial Meniscus! Who says dodge ball is for sissy's? The doctor said he would do surgery this week! Um, no, Amelia is going to Europe! She has been saving for this trip for a year, planning, and waiting! The doctor did a steroid injection into the knee joint to help with the pain and we are praying that will give her relief while she is gone.
On the 25th of March she will have arthroscopic knee surgery and hopefully that will take care of the problem and get rid of the pain. So keep Amelia in your thoughts and prayers please, she will need them. Thanks!

Crazed LIfe
Hello Friends, I'm still around, but Mom's emergency surgery last week has taken me away from home. I had a few posts done up ahead of time, but I fear they are probably at an end!
We moved her from the hospital today to a rehab hospital so they can concentrate on P.T. The nice thing is that this new place is smaller, and I was able to get Elke, the dachshund, into see her. I think pet therapy is excellent and seeing her dog did wonders for her spirits.
The Sundowners Syndrome is showing itself, but may not be as bad as a year ago when she had her knee replaced. However, it is scary to see someone you love go all wacky and act totally demented.
Anyway, just wanted to let my faithful followers know, I am here, but I'm not!! I appreciate your e-mails and your prayers.
