Trampoline Fashion!

Excuse Me? What are you doing???

AJ appeared in the house like this the other day. I had to do a double take! Um, where are you going, what are you doing? Not planning on robbing a bank are we???!

"NO MOM", "I want to jump on the trampoline and the wind is blow 60+ mph out there! I thought I'd keep the dust out of my eyes and the grit out of my mouth and nose." Why the hood? For my hair and ears off course!!!!

That kid, always thinking! So, loyal readers, all 19 of you! Don't let a 'little' wind keep you off your trampolines for goodness sake just use the correct safety attire!

73!

73!!! Can you believe, only 73 days Let me count the ways! ? Lets see, 73 is just over 2 months! How many more times can I use the number 73? Remember, this is our 25th anniversary cruise.

Seriously though, my first ever cruise, I'm soooooo excited, can you tell? Thursday was the day to book excursions. We are swimming with the dolphins. I have a love affair with dolphins (don't tell my husband!). I've managed to swim with them 2 times before and I'd do it a 1000 times more :) However, Tyler, Amelia, and AJ have never had the blessed experience. Kevin did in Mexico with me back in 2007. Only good memory of that trip!

Also, Kev, Amelia, and AJ are going to try SNUBA. Can you figure that one out? The kids are too young to be certified (at least here) for scuba, and Kev wants more than snorkeling. So SNUBA is the new thing! I'll send the water camera with them!

OK, one BUMMER ~ I'm in SHOCK ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

I've been wanting to renew our wedding vows on the beach, Amelia and I in white sundresses, the boys in white shirts and shorts, all bare footed, nice and simple. Got the picture?

I talked to Disney, apparently to do this with them, you have to buy the complete package, photos, cakes, steam the dress, 50 guests, strawberries and champagne to the room, souvenir cake topper and cutter, and on and on it goes!!! The price tag for this you ask? $2,500!!!! Needless to say, we aren't doing it the Disney way!!

I'm going to go online, order the bride and groom ears, have them embroidered with our wedding date, and Kev has suggested that we write some vows and let the kids read them and do the photos! We can pick a spot on Castaway Cay that should work just fine! Amelia and I can wear our dresses over our swimsuits! Isn't Kevin lucky he married such a reasonable woman?!!!

So, 73 days and counting and much to do!!!

Oh Joy! (Land)

How do you keep kids busy during Spring Break? Well, I WON tickets to our local amusement park, courtesy of our awesome oldies radio station, 98 Kool!! Thanks, Landon. I won 4 free armbands which equaled admission for 4. Awesome! (my life became very hectic last week, more later, so Amelia, AJ, and friends went along with 2 of my cameras!) Here is the fun they had.

Amelia, AJ, and Amelia's 'boyfriend' Zane!

This has to be an 'arm' shot self photo, but I love this one!!

Zane coming down the river!

Zane and brother Bishop on the aerial tram ride. See, 2 cameras paid off, look below!

Amelia and AJ on the aerial tram!

I just love getting my cameras back after the kids have them. Getting a kids perspective on the world is interesting. This is what you see looking down from the tram! Pretty neat I thought!

Bishop and AJ on some of the kiddie rides! Even though AJ is 11 he can still have fun!

And this is Landon King, the 98 Kool radio host that I won the tickets from. I've been listening to Landon on the air for the 16 years that I've lived in Lubbock! Landon is almost part of the family. We make special trips just to go say hi and see him when he doing a special broadcast!

Some may think this is weird, but when you grow up with a Dad working for NBC News in Chicago, you get to know all the radio and news people! I've always known my local radio personalities!

So, Landon, THANK YOU for making SPRING BREAK special for the kids. They had a great time and are still talking about it. Just wish my life hadn't been so crazy and I could have par taken!

Mom's 85th

Last week Mom turned 85! We took her to lunch with some friends, gave her the complete Shirley Temple collection on DVD, and then had cake! Sounds like a party, right??

Tyler hates having his picture taken. Above is the best picture I think we got all week!! Below is the more common look we got!

Chris with Grandmother!

Amelia and AJ bring out the cake!

Life around here is still crazy. I hope to get back to regular posts.

Go Mitch Go

This was the Whitaker family. The little boy was Mitchel. I've never met this family, unfortunately, I never met Mitch and I never will. Leukemia took this wonderful little boy from our world at the young age of 10.

Why am I blogging about this? Because about 18 months ago Mitch's Mom asked 40 women to run a marathon with her to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Those women in OKC ran the marathon in AZ in Jan 2009. Now, they are planning on doing another marathon in San Francisco in October 2010. Only this time my niece, Stephanie, has asked me to join them! I'm honored, scared, and excited! I really feel led to do this. I'm not a runner, in fact you usually have to drag me to the gym! However, this is a horrible disease and no one should have to go through the pain that I'm sure Tracey went through.

So, I asking for every one's support. Every little bit will make a difference. I have a button at the top of my blog, TNT. If you click it, it will take you my fundraising page and tell you how to make a donation.

Thanks everyone!
