The Dreaded SHED!

Shed update # ?????

If you read my blog with any regularity you'll know that about 1.5 yrs ago we started building a shed.

Ok, if you are new to my blog, here is more of the story! Rebuilding the shed because of an issue with a neighbor!

Making a door!
So that brings me to this past weekend. Kevin finally had a weekend in town, and we were able to install the window, build the door, and start priming the shed. Of course it had to be one the hottest weekends for us to paint!

The door will fit, just need to adjust the hinge!

Insert flange A into Slot C, Bend Tab B over......

AJ's Packing!  Not sure what, but he's packing!!

The professionals!

Wow!  Look at those fumes!

Amelia tries out the sprayer!  It is great for nooks and crannies!

So, I finally get a weekend with my hubby and we 'kill' ourselves! sad part is the shed still isn't finished! We need this baby done, we need the garage and shop cleaned out for multiple reasons, but the most pressing reason ~ ROBOTICS is starting up and the team needs a home to be able to build their robot. Amelia and AJ are both on the team. Chris and Tyler both did robotics. Curious? Look into B.E.S.T.

I'm sure I will have more shed posts! I hope someone had more fun this weekend than I did! Please tell me you did!

Where Did Summer Go?

Summer is over, oh I know technically it is still summer season on the calendar.  But, ask any Mom or any child that is in school, and you will be told, SUMMER is over!!  Those lazy hazy days of no alarms, going to the pool and and laying around vanished in the blink of an eye.

Open house for school has come and gone, we met the teachers, got the school supply lists and saw the class rooms!
The Frenzy of TAX FREE weekend  has been survived without incident.  The mall parking lot was a sea of color with every shape and size of car known to man!  They were parking in the north 40 just to be able to get in and buy jeans, socks, undies and such without TAX!

And, we have endured the first week of school with this 'brilliant' new curriculum!  No one likes it ~ the teachers don't like like it, the students don't like it, and the parents don't like like it!  Maybe we should bring back the TAKS testing!

The First Day of School!
So, now we have alarms, schedules, homework galore, extra curricular activities, and bed times!  When is Christmas break??

Have a great 2nd week of school!

We are Still Alive!

Hello friends!

I just realized I've been MIA!! Where has the time gone?

Let me back track. I think I've mentioned that my Mom has been hit with sudden Alzheimer's/dementia. Mid July she started a fire in her microwave in her assisted living apartment. That is the night the managers told me she had exceeded the requirements for level of care that they provided. I needed to find an alternate place for her to live. The search was on.

Lubbock has a 'new' facility called Raider Ranch that I will now refer to as R.R. They have a beautiful campus. A four story independent living building. Complete independent cottages, an assisted living building, and then the Memory Unit where Mom is now. The R.R. Memory unit is completely locked down. I have a key fob to get in and out! Pets are allowed to visit, they have lots of activities and memory stations, and a full staff to assist the residents. We feel sure Mom is being cared for and she can't wonder off. Also, no more fires.

So, I arranged the movers, packed her up, unpacked her, hung pictures, and Chris is keeping the dog. My brother and sis-in-law came to town we had a huge garage sale. let me tell you, garage sales are a LOT of work!!!! Now I'm getting kids to dentist, doctor, hair, trying to get set up with ortho, and get all the stuff for school. UGH! Yes, I said the dreaded S word! School starts Aug 23rd here. Where did Summer go?

Well, hopefully it won't be another 3 weeks before I blog again. Oh, and the picture above? That was 2 days ago, when the 3 of us got our hair done! It is blurry, but I wasn't taking the picture!

Have a great weekend! Enjoy what's left of summer!
