It is now July 20th. In 1 month I have to sign re-commitment papers for the 1/2 marathon for Leukemia Lymphoma Society (LLS). I'm suppose to raise $3,500.00 I've mailed out letters, sent out e-mails, and still I'm only to 30% of my goal.
If you have donate to this cause, I THANK you from the bottom of my heart. If you have been waiting, NOW is the time to act! I know times are tough, but I can NOT afford to have $2,400.00 charged to my credit card, although LLS is a very worth while cause.
Please take a moment and look at my fund raising page ~ http://pages.teamintraining.org/ok/nikesf10/cfunk4
If you have a few dollars to spare, please make a donation. If you know someone who has suffered from Leukemia or Lymphoma pass this page to them, PLEASE!!
I've been training, not as regularly as I should but I know I can do this. I've just been stuck in the same place on the $$ amount for quite awhile. I need to know I have support.
Thank you to those who have supported me and THANK YOU to those who will.
Hugs,

Going Too Far....
I like to join in on things. I have a difficult time saying NO! I'm always volunteering for something.
When my niece, Stephanie, asked me to join her in doing a 1/2 marathon to raise money for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, I said yes, warily. I've never done a half marathon, 13.1 miles!
However, Kevin said I've taken joining in too far, when at Easter Stephanie fell and injured her foot, requiring that she post pone marathon training. The next week, I fell, totally on my R knee, twisting and turning and hurting the ligaments/nerves/muscles that go from the knee to hip!
I spent 6 days on crutches, and am still walking with a cane. The thigh muscle is a primary muscle needed for walking/jogging in a marathon, according to my husband. Really???
So my training has been post poned also, I've had to take 'leave' from work, and I'm exasperated at how the house looks. Still haven't finished moving Mom, Chris is running out of time to get out of the apartment, and the family would love a home cooked meal!
Why do I have to always join in??
Just call me Hop-along!

TNT
NO, not dynamite! This:

Someone please tell me that all the work I did moving my Mom and son counted toward my training for my Marathon! I was so busy I didn't have time to walk, but I lifted weights, went up and down stairs at Chris' apartment, and walked a lot of trips to and fro the car carrying boxes from the house to Mom's new assisted living apartment. I'm getting worried that I'm not on track.
This week I'm not feeling well, my fibromyalgia is flaring big time.
Hopefully the donations will get back on track and start pouring in. If all my friends gave $25 I'd have almost my entire $3500. So look at my TNT link, click on the button on the top L of this blog. All money goes to the research for leukemia and lymphoma and other blood cancers.
Thank you for your support.

Go Mitch Go

This was the Whitaker family. The little boy was Mitchel. I've never met this family, unfortunately, I never met Mitch and I never will. Leukemia took this wonderful little boy from our world at the young age of 10.
Why am I blogging about this? Because about 18 months ago Mitch's Mom asked 40 women to run a marathon with her to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Those women in OKC ran the marathon in AZ in Jan 2009. Now, they are planning on doing another marathon in San Francisco in October 2010. Only this time my niece, Stephanie, has asked me to join them! I'm honored, scared, and excited! I really feel led to do this. I'm not a runner, in fact you usually have to drag me to the gym! However, this is a horrible disease and no one should have to go through the pain that I'm sure Tracey went through.
So, I asking for every one's support. Every little bit will make a difference. I have a button at the top of my blog, TNT. If you click it, it will take you my fundraising page and tell you how to make a donation.
Thanks everyone!

I've Lost My Mind!
I'm not athletic, not a sports person by any means. I hate running, end of story, but I've decided to do a 1/2 marathon!!! WHY???? To raise $$ for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society research. I'm joining Stephanie, my niece, and TNT to help fight this horrible disease. Come next week, I'll have my paper work and be signed up. Then I can set up my fund raising page with TNT and I'll be asking people for support.
I've never done anything like this, but I feel compelled to give of myself and help find a cure. My niece's friend lost her 10yr old son to leukemia. No one should have to go through that. My father passed from Cancer.
I've already started walking, so whether I walk, run, jog, or crawl, I'm going to San Francisco in Oct. and do this marathon. I will need all the help I can get!
