Graduation!

So this is the ONLY picture we got of us with Tyler! Life is just too hectic, crazy, wild, and insane in this house right now. Having Shawn and Stephanie in town with the girls for graduation was WONDERFUL. Building a shed the week of end of school, graduation, and planning a Graduation party at the same time, Lunacy???? I'm looking back thru my pictures, none of Kev, Ty, and I! OTB is the only family picture!!!

Chris, Reagan, Shawn, Kennedy, AJ, Stephanie, Tyler, Kev, me!

I have to now beg Tyler to put the cap and gown on after the fact and let me get some photos of him in 'it'!!! You know how he loves having his picture taken! I'm not very hopeful! Oh well, I still have 2 more kids to go! Better luck next time right?

Shed Building 101 Part 2!

Building goes faster if you don't have to redo everything! Come Saturday morning, we discovered that the wall of the shed next to the house was going to be to tall, the roof of the shed would hit the roof of the house!

Solution? Cut all the walls down by 4 inches (I think it was)!!!

Seventh step, place roof beam, so you can do rafters and rafter ties. The new motto became measure 4 times cut twice!!!! Thank heavens, our friend Mike came over to help. Shawn had to go back to OKC. Kevin looks happy, but he's scared of heights!

Eighth, siding and eaves! It is beginning to shape up! Starting to look like something. Unfortunately, the hammering never ends, my forearm is soooo sore it hurts to type!!!!

ninth, roofing~ What a job. Even with a broken coccyx, Stephanie was on top of the shed, helping to nail in the roof!

I have been so tired and sore since the weekend. Sunday night I sat down on the sofa and laid back, I was asleep in 30 seconds!!!! We were talking about a movie, they all went, I slept!

We still have 1 side to complete, 2 small panels and 2 doors, also install the window. I'm suppose to paint the shed this week, but the rains keep coming!

The shingles are going to be done by the roofers when we get our new roof after horrible Hail
storm.

Wish me luck with painting and finishing this project if Kevin ever gets back in town! June is going to be a crazy month.

Shed Building 101 Part 1!

First you go to the home improvement store to buy lumbar and paint with these adorable things!

Second, you start painting the floor and then you knock down the fence where the new shed will be and start building the base or the floor of the shed! Also, you enlist help from every friend or family member you can bribe!!!! Also, with the new found hedge trimmers that work, you start trimming ALL the hedges that were killed in early spring ice storm!!!

Third, since the home improvement store is not going to deliver your order when you want it, you go and pick up PART of the order so you can start building walls!

Fourth, when the home improvement store finally does arrive with the rest of your order, ALL work comes to a complete halt!!! The flatbed truck with the forklift is way too cool!!!!!!!!!

Fifth, The slave labor from Oklahoma takes the required break! Then you get the rest of the walls built and start getting them attached to the floor of the unit!

Sixth, a loving brother/sister moment! Then comes headers and preparations for the roof beams!

Stay tuned, part 2 coming!!! I know you are on the edge of your seat with anticipation!

New Family Members!

Lisa, my friend, had baby kittens available for good homes. Chris had decided that he wanted one, then he decided on 2! Well, Amelia and AJ worked on Dad and finally got an OK for them to each have a kitten. So here they are the newest addition to our family.

AJ with R2-D2!

Gizmo, sorry the pic is blurry, keeping a kitty still is no small task!

This is Chris' kitty, Corellia. This one will go to his apartment in a few days.

And this is Chris' kitty, Talus. Also will be moving to his apartment in a few days!

Litter box training is going well!

Shed Painting

To build a new shed, we needed a base, a floor! Kevin wanted it painted and sealed against weather and bugs. So after visiting the home improvement store, this is what our home yard looked like for several days.

The plywood drying in the front drive.

Tyler gets the 1st coat of paint onto some of the support beams.

Unfortunately, a storm blew in and all the wood had to moved around back and into the garage.

Day 2 meant some painting in the garage, or near it, and some around the side of the house where the shed would be built!

Other sides of wood get paint, loaned old T's to Stephanie and McKinley who were visiting and helping, and neighbor Ashley lent a helping hand. At one point it was hard to say which had more paint, the wood or the kids!!!!

Amelia and Ashley try to get the edges of the floor coated!

Are we finished yet?
