Lubbock Water Rampage

Our orthodontist office is the neatest office of the kind! Dr. St. Clair and his staff do a yearly patient appreciation party. Lubbock Water Rampage with some of our friends was a blast. Just to bad that thunderstorms had to cut the evening short. Anyway, we want to thank the doctors of Smiles by St. Clair Orthodontics, we had so much fun. Here are some pictures from the evening.

 Waiting to get inside!

Thanks to Smiles by St. Clair Orthodontics and thanks to Lubbock Water Rampage for all the fun! Cozyflier

Legacy Play Village

10 years ago the community got together and built an awesome play park for our kids. It took a lot of volunteer man hours and planning and our village is a really cool place. I was so excited when Lubbock decided to build one because I was familiar with the concept from Enid, OK. Enid had built one in their town and my two oldest sons enjoyed playing in that park when they were little. My grandmother use to live in Enid, OK!!! Anyway, last week AJ had some friends over and we drove out to Legacy Play Village. It is now 10 yrs old. Wow, how time flies! I thought I'd share pictures of our fun.

We might be open for business!

 Get us out of here!

This place is huge!  Look up at the Right side of the pic, thr protruding angle, there is a face in the mesh!

We are up at the top level!!

 Chuga Chuga Choo Choo!!!!!

Wagons Ho!   Hunter, Amelia, and AJ!

 We've got muscle!

Whee!!!  Round and round we go!

 Who's KING of this Rock??!!??
Do you have a play village in your town? This park is wonderful. There are many picnic tables. Lots of swings and areas for the kids to play and use their imagination. Slides and bars to let energy be burned off. Happy Summer! Cozyflier

Has it been 27 Years?

I can't believe that on June 8th it was 27 years! Seems like yesterday that Kevin and I were hitched! We are soul mates and work together as a team on so many aspects that the years just fly by. Kevin came in that morning from working a 24 hour shift so he was tired. He went to bed and I went and had my hair done!! When I came home at noon I had a delivery:

Notice the Mickey's??!!!

This is the Balloon Bouquet that I received from Kevin! I just love it. We have had more fun playing with it, doing weight and balance and making the balloon float around the house! :-) Kevin was awake when I got home and we were all hungry. We made crepes. AJ decided that Kevin and I needed to eat alone in the dining room.

Our Unity Candle

Our 'private' brunch!  AJ was our maitre D!!!

Making the hot air balloon float!!!

For the evening, we went to a favorite restaurant that we don't get to go to very often. It is called, The Funky Door! It is a wine bistro with exquisite food!

Then after dinner we went and got frozen yogurt! It was a wonderful day, family time, alone time, and reflection. Just don't know where 27 years has gone! 27 down, and 73 more to go!! We usually take turns planning our anniversaries. This year was more or less Kev's turn. We kept it simple minimal expense because we are doing a cruise in Sept. for Kev's birthday :-) How many years have you been married? Do you celebrate and do silly things like us? People tease us all the time because we still hold hands, hug all the time and act like newlyweds! We are still in LOVE after all these years. Share your celebrations with me. Cozyflier

Red Hot Popcorn for the 4th!

I know I've posted this recipe in the past, but I did it at Christmas. Well, I got to thinking, dangerous, I know! That some people might like to make this delicious popcorn for the 4th of July! So, I'm posting this again! Red Hot Popcorn:

1 Cup butter (2 sticks) 1/2 C Light corn syrup 9 oz red hot candies 8 quarts air popped popcorn (2 large bowls) In a saucepan, combine butter, corn syrup, and candies; bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Pour over popcorn and mix thoroughly. Turn into 2 greased 15 10 X 1 inch cookie sheets. Bake at 250* for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Remove from pans and place on waxed paper to cool. Break apart and store in airtight containers or plastic bags. TIPS: Pop all the popcorn and sift through your fingers to get all the kernals out. Be sure to cook the full hour or the popcorn won’t dry out enough and will be chewy. I hope you add this to your 4th of July menu. I think your guests will enjoy it! Cozyflier

The Transit of Venus

Yesterday a cosmological event happened that won't occur again in our lifetime. The Transit of Venus ~ Venus crossed in front of the Sun creating I believe an Antumbra shadow on the Earth. This was exciting! Kevin was actually off and we dug out the 1973 telescope and rigged a 3rd leg, 1 had broken! We watched Venus Transit across the Sun for over an hour yesterday! History in the making! We showed the neighbors, Chris and Micah came over, it was a little party!! Of course Ashley was here. AJ was very interested, and Kevin got to teach him some astronomy and science! So glad it wasn't cloudy like it was a couple weeks ago. I'll let you see:

Kevin and AJ looking at the telescope sun reflector screen

See that black dot?  The black dot is the shadow of Venus!!

Did you get to watch this event yesterday? It won't happen for 105 years. Cozyflier
