My son, Chris, had me drive down by Texas Tech University last week so we could grab a bite to eat. Tech is out of my 'circle'!!!! I seldom get the 7 or 8 miles across town!

Anyway this 'new' restaurant, Raising Cains is by the University. While eating, I noticed this sign. I started laughing, and had to get my camera out! Yes, I keep my camera in my purse. So, enjoy a good laugh for a Monday, I know I did last week.

I REALLY need to look into investing in Photoshop. I just love this. I promise, no more graduation stuff until the actual event has taken place!! And that as you can see isn't until the end of May, so you have a respite!

Swine Flu- or H1N1

Not trying to be an alarmist. Just wanting to show you what my talented son, Tyler, has been doing in his GIS class. This is a computer class that is very difficult to explain. However, Tyler's teacher noticed that the dept of health did not have a County Map to show the Swine Flu out break. Tyler's assignment was to take data, put it into an excel program with all counties of Texas. Edit that with confirmed cases of Swine Flu, and merged this data with Arcmap software to make a map of the 254 counties of Texas. Like I said, GIS is not easy to explain!! Anyway, since last week, Tyler has been updating and improving his map. Watching the cases grow and spread has been impressive. This is giving my son real world use for something that he enjoys doing! He might even be in the local paper!!

On 5-5-09 the data changed from 2 pm when he started class to 3:20 when he was getting ready to end class!! 60 cases in TX



Today 87 cases! This is still growing despite what the media says.

Sally is a love! She has passed this CROWN onto me. I'm soooooo honored! Never thought of myself as a queen, well Scrapbook Queen, but that's about it!!

In order to keep the crown, I have to tell you seven things that are Awe-Summm!!! about me.

1. I love my husband, he is AMAZING. I have been married coming up on 24 yrs and I've known him 26 years. I'm more in love with him each day.

2. I have 4 awesome kids. 2 years ago I almost died, if it hadn't been for my 2 oldest sons helping with housework,helping with the 2 younger kids, driving me to appointments, I dont' know what I would have done. My 2 youngest sat with me and hugged me and kept me company in the summer.

3. I'm crafty ~ I scrapbook, I do room mom things for the kids, I make star of the week posters! I know how to sew, but don't do it near as well my Mother, oh to have her talent! I can make cute things out of cans, caps, and other recyclables!!

4. I make friends easily ~ whether in person or online! I love to find out about my friends and try to keep in touch.

5. I over volunteer ~ but people know they can depend on me and I'll get the job done! I may be involved with PTA, civic organizations, EAA, or helping my husband. But I'll get the job done!

6. I'm organized in my own way! Don't look at my desk - a messy desk is a sign of genius!!!! Actually it is quite clean right now. I have a to do list that never ends.

7. I'm so happy to be a Stay at Home Mom once again. I've worked a lot in the office for my husband over the years, but being able to stay home, and be with the kids is a big reward. I love being part of their lives and know what is happening at school.

16. What bad habit do you have that you would like to terminate? Crying at inappropriate times like during stressful meetings.

18.What is the one thing that you have done in your life that you are the most proud of and if you had the chance to do it again you wouldn't change a thing? Raising my 4 kids. 2 are adults and turned out great. The other 2 are well on there way!

19.What’s your favorite piece of clothing in your own closet? Dress Jeans

20. What’s your dream job? I guess being a Mom! Being self employed and owning your own business certainly is NOT it!!!!!!!

21. If you had $150 now what would you spend it on? Clothes for the kids.

22. Do you admire anyone’s style? Not one person in particular, no.

23.Describe your personal style: Classic Chic, comfortable, casual, not overdone.

24. Who’s fashion show would you want tickets to? Not a clue!!!

25. If you could slap one person with no repercussions, who would it be and why? The Principal of the elementary school we are currently attending. He has taken a wonderful school and made it a not so wonderful school. He wants to control the PTA budget!!!!

26. What are you most proud of? That I'm still soooo in love with my husband after 24 years!

27. Why do you like to blog and how long have you done it? I feel like it is therapy, such an outlet and I have made so many friends. It makes such a big world a little smaller. I have only been doing this for 4 months!!!
