This is how my friend Kelly and I spent yesterday! Cooking Chex Mix, making Goblin Toes, and molding chocolate with pretzels. What a day! We got better with practice. The frustrating thing was that the candy melts didn't always melt! Any tips on midnight black? It looked like the sugar crystallized and I tried adding oil, but I never got it to work.
On a blog I follow, Gourmet Mom to Go, I found this adorable and easy recipe. Goblin Toes! Nutter butter cookies, Green candy melts, Golden Grahams, and Cocoa Puffs. (I used the chocolate from Reese's Puffs, couldn't find cocoa puffs!
Dip the nutter butters into the green chocolate. Put a golden graham onto the end for the toe, and Puff cereal for the wart! Let set. Then paint the golden graham with red candy melt! You'll see in a min!
Oh, the candy molded pretzel mummys. We get better, just wait!
Goblin Toes ready for red! Mold ready for the fridge!
Appetizing aren't they?!?
Goblin Toes, some painted red ~ the finished ones, others waiting to be finished!
How about them bones?
A few more! I really like the yellow in the windows of the haunted house! These are easy, just TIME consuming! Hope the kids like them.
Well, all of this is for the BIG PARTY Saturday night. I hope to get some good pictures! I'm afraid it is going to be bigger than last year when I was trying to keep it smaller! One Mom actually called to RSVP, and asked if her daughter could bring a friend. I said yes, and the Mom said, well, I didn't think one more would matter since the entire 6th and 7th grade are invited!!! My response, REALLY??
How do these rumors get started? Amelia and AJ did NOT hand out invites to the entire grade level!! Oh well, wish me luck!

Good luck with that. I think I would have to pass on the goblin toes. Thanks but no thanks.
